According to German consulting firm Montenius Consult, several resorts exaggerated the dimension of their slopes.

Their latest annual study in to the world’s largest ski areas, released on Tuesday, revealed that the French and the Swiss exaggerated the dimension of their resorts the most.  

Of the 56 biggest ski places in France, 38 inflated their piste length by a lot more compared to 30 per cent.

Three resorts said their slopes were a lot more compared to double their real size.

German expert Christoph Schrahe, that invested hundreds of hrs measuring pistes to compile the report, said France’s Alpine Savoie region was estate to the world’s two biggest skiing domains.

The Trois Vallees area, making up eight stations including the Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens resorts, is the biggest along with a combined 542 kilometres (336 miles) of ski slopes, while the Paradiski zone comes in at 402km (250 miles).

Third on the list was the American ski location of Park City and Deer Valley in Utah, which has actually jumped from 33rd in to 3rd position thanks to a brand-new gondola connection, which provides it 360km (224 miles) of slopes.

The United States has actually 28 of the 100 biggest ski areas, while France has actually 20, followed by Austria along with 17 locations.
