Rory Feek is reflecting on happy times along with his wife Joey, that is bravely facing her last days after battling along with terminal cancer.
On Tuesday, Feek took to Facebook, posting a link to a blog he originally posted last March, as he reminisced on his family’s Hawaiian vacation in honor of his 50th birthday.
“…Remembering this morning last February, ideal about this time, we took a family quest with each other to Hawaii celebrate my upcoming birthday,” the singer wrote. “Just what a difference a year makes. The just thing that’s changed is everything. And nothing.”
In the blog post, finish along with pictures and videos from the family’s trip, Feek recalls the “magical” moments, as he and his wife, along along with her two oldest daughters, and the couple’s baby, checked out two weeks on Oahu and the Big Island.
“In late February, we packed out bags complete of warm weather clothes (I guaranteed Joey and the girls that I wouldn’t also take a pair of bib overalls along with me, and I didn’t) and said goodbye to the ice and cold and landed in beautiful sunny paradise,” Feek writes. “Me, Joey, Heidi, her husband Casey, Hopie and out little Indiana.”
The trip, which took put almost a year after Joey was diagnosed along with cancer in Might 2014, was complete of enjoyable times, including strolls on the beach, hiking and climbing volcanoes.
“It was our favored vacation we’ve ever taken,” Feek continued. “the majority of of the trips that we call family vacations, are actually spots where we’re playing a prove to and attempt to match in a couple of days of being tourists about it.
“This one was different. There was no music, no plan, no rush… merely us all of being with each other as a family. I loved it.”
While the family Might not have the ability to travel all of with each other anymore, as Joey has actually been bedridden because November, the video montage that Feek place with each other will certainly offer memories for years to come.
