Delta Airlines flight diverts after air hostesses exchanged punches at 37,000 feet

A Delta Airlines flight travelling from Los Angeles to Minneapolis was forced to divert after two members of crew started fighting midair.

Flight 2598 earned an unscheduled landing in Salt Lake City, where the air hostesses involved in the fight were kicked off the plane.

The plane was grounded for 80 mins while a back-up crew was found. It after that took off again for Minneapolis, 75 mins behind schedule.

Trouble broke out about 40 mins in to the four-hour flight on January 22 after two air hostesses started arguing concerning ‘job issues’.

The argument allegedly escalated in to a fist fight at 37,000 feet in the air.

A 3rd female attendant, that tried to calm points down, was strike in the face.

When the leader was informed of the fight, he requested an unscheduled landing as he wanted to hear from his flight attendants, according to Aviation Herald

The Boeing 757 was diverted to Salt Lake City in Utah.

A passenger on board reported that three cabin crew members were kicked off for ‘unsatisfactory behaviour’.

Delta later issued a letter of apology to the delayed passengers stating: ‘Several of our group members did not display their ideal behavior. 

‘We expect our flight crew to be nothing yet courteous and professional at all of times and just what you endured was far from that. I am sorry we didn’t deliver on our brand promise for you today.’

In a statement, Delta said: ‘We apologise to those customers that were inconvenienced after flight 2598 from Los Angeles to Minneapolis earned an unscheduled protect against in Salt Lake City adhering to an altercation involving two flight attendants on board.

‘The actions of these crew members in no method reflect the values and professionalism we expect from every one of our employees.

‘We try to make sure that every customer has actually a terrific experience along with Delta.. We regret that our customers’ experience did not live up to our expectations.

‘We offered a letter to our customers immediately upon landing in Minneapolis-St. Paul to apologize for any sort of inconvenience this situation might have actually caused.

‘To reimburse our passengers, SkyMiles members received miles, while customers that are not currently SkyMiles members received a travel voucher.’
